Overview
The major difficulties encountered by our client concerned the aggregation and analysis of critical machinery data collected and stored on different data sources. To be used, the data had to be periodically downloaded in CSV format and cleaned manually. The engineering team then had to deal with aggregating the downloaded data into heavy Excel sheets that were difficult to use.
Because of these problems, our client was spending more time aggregating and cleaning data from different assets than analyzing it to derive useful information for improving plant performance. In addition, all KPIs related to asset performance and energy consumption were updated periodically and not in realtime resulting in increased intervention time for the maintenance team.
Once Scops was implemented, the engineering and maintenance team saw their productivity increase significantly. Data is now automatically transferred from various machines and data-bases directly to Scops, which takes care of data preparation and cleaning. The team now has direct visibility into critical machinery data and KPIs and can invest their time in monitoring asset performance. The simplicity in data accessibility and analysis is helping our client identify operating anomalies, test different machinery set-ups, and always have up-to-date, unambiguous data to work with during internal meetings.
